Carol J. Anderson, age 78, passed away with her family by her side at MCHS in Bloomer on February 8, 2018; after battling numerous health ailments, including crippling rheumatoid arthritis, for the past 12 years. She was born on April 22, 1939 to Alvin and Laura (Lorenz) Colling in Appleton WI. She graduated from Appleton High in 1957. The death of her 5 year old son, David, in 1972 devastated the family, but it brought them closer together throughout the years. Carol worked as a waitress at many establishments over the years, including managing the Lake House Inn on Long Lake. She made many dear friends in the restaurant business and waitressing at Main Street Café, including Roger “Andy” Anderson, whom she married on December 26, 1989. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, doing crafts and sewing. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years: Andy; sons: Chuck (Cathy), Bob (Deb) and Bill (Heidi) Kiley; daughters: Kelly (Sid) Klein and Kathy (Don) Wickersheim; brothers: Ron (Judy) Colling, Steve (Mary) Colling, sisters: Jackie (Roy) Thiel and Betty Koerner; step-children: Paul and Mike; sister in-law: Shirley Ferstenou; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends
She is preceded in death by her parents: Alvin and Laura; son: David and infant brother: James; ex-husband: John Kiley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. There will be a visitation from 11:00-1:00 PM on Tuesday at the church before the service. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family Interment will be in the spring.
