August Koch

August W. “Augie” Koch, 95, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Luther Midelfort Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. He was born on July 16, 1914 in Bloomer to William & Ruth (Chase) Koch. He was married to May on August 4, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. He worked as a farmer and was an active member of the Bloomer Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fixing things, gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife May of Bloomer; two sons: Bill (Michele) Koch of Bloomer & Terry (Kathy) Koch of Sturtevant WI; one daughter: Laurie (Tim) Koehler of Bloomer; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Esther Matye.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Rev. Robert Hannemann officiating. A visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home on Thursday, from 4:00-8:00 and one hour prior to the service at the church.
