Armin A. Erb

Armin A. Erb, age 94, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home in Chetek.

 Armin was born on October 10, 1930, in Madison, WI to John and Freida (Bahlar) Erb. He graduated from Northwestern College in Minnesota with a degree in Pastoral Studies. On October 15, 1951, Armin married Irene H. Swenson and to this marriage four children were born. Armin pastored churches in Knapp, WI, Curlew, IA and Beaver Dam, WI.

 Armin was the Director at Camp Chetek for 23 years, worked in the cities for St. Paul Public Housing Authority and drove bus for the Chetek School District. After Irene’s death in 2008, Armin married Evangeline Anderson on December 15, 2012, at Faith Baptist Church and they spent 12 years together. Armin enjoyed fishing, north shore camping, cars of all ages, dining out, spending time with family, but most of all he valued the close relationship he had with his Lord.

 Armin is survived by his wife: Evangeline “Eva”; three daughters: Carolyn (Doug) Schmidt, of Michigan, Marcia (Robert) Shevy, of Michigan and Julie (Bruce) Enemark, of Florida; daughter-in-law: Vicki Erb of Chetek; 14 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; five step-children: Kathryn (Tim) Walkowski, Steven (Tammy) Anderson, Jonathan (Emily) Anderson, Eric Anderson and Charles Anderson; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Freida Erb; first wife: Irene (Swenson) Erb; son: John A. Erb; grandson: Quentin Shevy; and sister: Ida Korn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Faith Baptist Church in Chetek with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek.  The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and Julie and Bruce Enemark for all their dedicated care shown to Armin in the last months of his life.
