Anthony “Pete” Ochocki, age 86, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Cornell Area Care Center. He was born January 27, 1923 in Detroit MI to Anthony & Louise (Algrim) Ochocki. He married Audrey Klaar on August 11, 1962 in East Detroit MI. He served in the 82nd Airborn during WWII and worked as a carpenter in Washington D.C. serving as the Union Official for many years. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and also the Disabled American Vets. Pete had a very humble beginning being orphaned at the age of three, living with relatives and working very hard from an early age. He believed in giving a full day’s work for a day’s wages. He valued his work as a labor union official, helping people get better wages and working conditions. In later years he enjoyed a good game of golf and keeping in touch with friends and colleagues from work. He was a kind, honest person whose greatest joy in life was his family.
He is survived by his wife: Audrey of New Auburn; two daughters: Karen Ochocki of New Auburn & Donna (Jack) Knapp of Howell MI; five grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two step-brothers: Edward & Carl O’Shaughnessy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Friends may call from 4:00 �" 9:00 on Friday and up to the time of service on Saturday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
