Anthony Kollwitz

Anthony E. Kollwitz, age 85, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. He was born November 18, 1923 in Bloomer to John & Sarah (Gunn) Kollwitz. He was married to Gladys Calkins and later, divorced. He served in the Marines during WWII, worked as a dairy farmer and a construction worker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three sons: Mark (Tina) Kollwitz, Tim Kollwitz & Dan Kollwitz, all of New Auburn; four daughters: Cheryl Schultz of Birchwood, Julie Hall, Patricia Nehring & Emily (Phil) Jones, all of Chippewa Falls; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Allan; two sisters: Ada & Erma; two infant brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Bloomer Cemetery in the spring. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
